Objective: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to have the basic knowledge of writing notes to prepare for a research assignment.
Students use sticky notes and pencils to record their notes.

A Venn diagram is created on the floor. Students are then given topic cards and are instructed to stand in the spot relating to their topic card.
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to add and subtract using problems to get to 100.Students learn how to add and subtract to get to 100 by playing the close to 100 game with a partner.
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to differentiate between various hues of colors.
Students will paint different hues of one color on the watercolor paper. When the paper is still wet, they will sprinkle salt on top to create a different texture. This lesson was integrated with a Language Arts standard, in which the students wrote a poem and then created a picture on their art to match the poem. |
5th grade lesson plans
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to compare and contrast the biography genre through discussion and evaluation techniques taught in class.
Students read a short biography and discussed the materials needed within a biography.
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to evaluate numerical expressions with parentheses, brackets, or braces, using strategies taught in class.Students learn how to evaluate equations using grouping symbols.
Objective: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to describe the vocabulary around plants and their materials.
Students engage in a Kahoot! quiz to test their knowledge on plants and the materials around them.
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to describe the characteristics of lakes, rivers, and oceans through the use of provided in class materials.
Students engaged in an interactive activity to show their knowledge about lakes, rivers, and oceans. The students helped the teacher create a live model of lakes, rivers, and oceans.
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will know how to create art using the crayon resist technique taught in class.
Students created art work using the crayon resist technique. Students drew pictures of things that reminded them of fall with crayons and then painted over the crayon drawings. |
